Silver-Copper Fluorosilicone EMI Shielding Elastomer
SSP2573-75 (Type C)
MIL-DTL-83528 Type C Fluorosilicone for EMI/RFI Gaskets Requiring Fuel, Oil & Chemical Resistance
SSP2573-75 is a 75-durometer, silver-plated copper filled fluorosilicone elastomer engineered to meet MIL-DTL-83528 Type C requirements. It combines strong EMI/RFI shielding performance with the chemical and fuel resistance demanded in aerospace, defense, and harsh-environment industrial applications.
Material Overview
- Base Polymer: Fluorosilicone (75 Shore A)
- Conductive Filler: Silver-plated copper
- Specification: Meets MIL-DTL-83528 Type C (QPL listed)
- Shielding Effectiveness: Typical >110 dB shielding over 20 MHz–10 GHz when properly installed
- Temperature Range: –55°C to +160°C (per MIL-DTL-83528 Type C)
- Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, solvents, and jet fuel due to fluorosilicone base
- Form Availability: Supplied as cured sheet material or compound; ideal for die-cutting, waterjet, and precision converting
Key Features
- Fluorosilicone Base for Harsh Environments – Provides superior resistance to fuels, oils, solvents, and aggressive fluids compared to standard silicone.
- High-Conductivity Silver-Copper Filler – Delivers excellent EMI/RFI attenuation when properly compressed against conductive mating surfaces.
- MIL-Spec Type C Qualification – Ensures controlled electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance for military and aerospace applications.
- 75 Durometer Hardness – Supports applications requiring higher sealing force, structural stability, and precise compression retention.
- Dimensional Stability for Complex Gasket Designs – Converts cleanly into intricate geometries and thin-wall profiles via SRP’s cutting technologies.
Applications
- Aerospace electronics exposed to fuels or hydraulic fluids
- Avionics enclosures, missile systems, radar equipment
- Military vehicles and tactical communication systems
- Chemical-processing instrumentation and industrial machinery
- Connector gaskets, door and panel seals, and access-cover gaskets
- Any EMI shielding interface where standard silicone would degrade due to fluid exposure
