Closed Cell Sponge Rubber Gaskets
Closed cell rubber, or expanded rubber, contains balloon-like cells filled with nitrogen gas, which block the flow of air, water, and chemicals at low pressures. Because of its consistent, solid structure, closed cell sponge rubber offers excellent sealing performance, providing resistance to acid, flame, and oil.
What Closed Cell Sponge Rubber can do for you
Closed Cell Sponge Rubber Formulations & Data Sheets
EPDM + EPDM Blend
EPDM sponge rubber is great for use in outdoor sealing applications due to the superior UV and Ozone resistance the material offers. Aside from offering excellent weathering resistance, EPDM also features good flexibility, tensile strength and recovery properties.
Data Sheets
EPICHLOROHYDRIN (ECH)
The excellent chemical resistance, excellent oil resistance and extreme temperature range of closed cell Epichlorohydrin (also known as ECH) rubber allows this gasket and sealing material to be used in many automotive and industrial applications.
PVC/NITRILE/NEOPRENE
PVC/NITRILE/NEOPRENE sponge rubber is an economical sealing and gasket material for applications requiring a good resistance to chemicals and conformance with UL 94 flammability ratings. This material performs well in temperatures ranging from -40° F to +200° F.
NEOPRENE + NEO BLEND
Neoprene sponge rubber is suitable for many industrial and flexible sealing applications, such as gaskets used in electrical enclosures and weather stripping. Properties like gasoline and oil resistance, chemical resistance and UV resistances makes neoprene versatile.
Data Sheets
NEOPRENE-EPDM
Combining the excellent UV and ozone resistance of EPDM with the additional fuel and oil resistance of NEOPRENE, the properties found in this material make it ideal for use in sealing applications that require a degree of fuel, oil and chemical resistance.
NEOPRENE-EPDM-SBR
NEOPRENE/EPDM/SBR results in a gasket material suitable for diverse industrial and mechanical applications where durability, flexibility, and cost are essential. The combination creates an excellent material used in many diverse indoor and outdoor applications.
NITRILE
Nitrile (also known as Buna-N) closed cell sponge rubber is an excellent gasket material for sealing applications that require oil and UV resistance. With a high resistance to oil, Buna-N also performs well as a gasket or sealing material in petroleum-based applications.
PVC-NITRILE
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and Nitrile (Buna-N) provide excellent energy & impact absorption, and good chemical resistance properties. PVC/NITRILE sponge rubber is a premium gasketing and sealing material and is also an excellent material for padding and shock absorption applications.
